Are you interested in serving your community, challenging yourself, and gaining new skills?

If so, then the West Point Fire Protection District invites you to fill out a Volunteer Firefighter application or become a member of West Point Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) today!

Volunteer firefighters serve the community by responding to a wide variety of situations, ranging from emergencies that immediately threaten life or property to routine citizen requests for information or assistance. When qualified, volunteers perform duties in various categories such as: fire suppression, emergency medical aid, public education, and more.  Volunteer firefighters are required to attend regularly scheduled training in order to maintain the high level of knowledge, skill and ability necessary to function safely and effectively as a firefighter and EMS provider.

If this sounds like you or someone you know, don’t wait!  Applications are available below.  For more information, contact West Point Fire Protection District or visit the Calaveras County Fire Chiefs Association website.

Don't have the time to commit to all the state required training hours to become a volunteer firefighter? Maybe fighting fire isn't your thing, but you still want to help support your community in times of crisis and need? Then the West Point Fire Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) wants you!

The CERT program educates citizens about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.

For more information on West Point CERT, contact Sam at 209-293-4010, ws6p@arrl.net or visit the
CERT Information Page.

West Point Fire CERT meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Veterans Building, 22237 Highway 26, West Point, CA. Come join us!
